When you venture into Port St. Joe for dinner or shopping, plan for a few minutes to check out the Cape San Blas Lighthouse! Originally built in the mid-1800s, this lighthouse has been rebuild and relocated due to storms and the eroding shoreline and has found its final resting spot in Port St Joe. This 101-foot tall, 131-step lighthouse can be climbed for $5 a person.
If you walk down the beach on the Cape at the Rock wall (Stump Hole), you will see the footings of where the lighthouse once stood. Visit www.capesanblaslight.org to see the old photos and locations of everywhere it has stood. And if you want to read up on the interesting history of it, check out Lighthouse Friends. https://www.lighthousefriends.com/light.asp?ID=591
Enjoy your climb!
