  • What is todays Warning Flag color?
    You can check the current flag status at Weather Service Beach Conditions or The south Gulf County Fire and Rescue. Physical flags can be seen from Tier Above Decks to the left and from the beach you can see the flag at Cape Palms Park to the right. Flags are also found at the north and south fire stations and in T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park.
  • Do I need a fishing license to fish off the beach on Cape San Blas?
    Yes, a shoreline fishing license can be purchased at Scallop cove or Blue Water Outrigger in Port St. Joe. It is free for Florida residents. For non-residents it is $17.50 for a 3 day, $30.50 for a 7 day or $47 for an annual fishing license.
  • How do I get a permit to drive on the beach?
    An annual permit to drive on the beach can be obtained at the courthouse in Port St Joe. Annual passes for non-residents of Gulf County are $500.
  • What are the rules about Beach bonfires on Cape San Blas?
    Bonfires are allowed on the beach, just make sure it is at least 100 feet from the boardwalk or any other structure. It must be always attended to. When you’re done, extinguish the fire, remove the remnants and fill the hole. Leave no trace behind. You can grab a bundle of wood at the Cape Trading Post.   • What's up with the Water Pressure on Cape San Blas?
    Cape San Blas has their own water station but the pressure is lower than you would expect. So, just know if the pressure seems low to you, its common on the Cape. At a Tier Above, we have installed a booster pump which removes this problem for the most part.
  • Arriving to Town Before the 5pm Check-In? Here are some suggestions of things to do:
    Piggly Wiggly for groceries. Whether you are coming through Port St. Joe or Apalachicola, Piggly Wiggly is your best option for a full grocery store. Souvenir Shop! Beach Planet is the largest but you will find great finds at Tortuga Moon, Trading post & Scallop Cove. And if you'd like to shop in PSJ, Reid Street has lots of options! Check out the Trading Post! You will likely visit them several times during your visit. Whether it's for grocery, hot food, drinks, firewood, Ice cream, souvenirs, Weber's donuts, etc., this will be a hot spot to get to know. Make it a beach day at Cape Palms Park. Just past our neighborhood, this park has Public Beach Access, Bathrooms, picnic tables, and a pavilion with swings. So, pack your beach bag and get a taste of the beach while you wait. State Park. Follow Cape San Blas Rd until it dead ends into the State park. Scope out the Bay & Gulf side because you'll want to explore it before you leave CSB! Grab a bite to eat!
  • What time Zone is Cape San Blas?
    Port St. Joe & Cape San Blas is on Eastern Time Zone. However, your devices will jump back and forth between Central and Eastern Time Zone. Please note this for Check in and Check out times. Otherwise, you are on beach time and it doesn't really matter the time!
